Global Events and Conferences
CGCS organizes international and domestic events, fostering links between scholars, institutes, practitioners and researchers. Conference highlights include the annual Milton Wolf Seminar in Vienna, The Summer Institute for Health Communication Studies in Beijing, China, The Monitoring and Evaluation of Media Programs in Conflict-Affected Regions conference hosted with US Institute of Peace, and the Cinema in Iran: Circulation, Censorship, and Cultural Production conference in Berlin.
CGCS also hosts several provost-funded seminar series on Penn’s campus, bringing together schools such as Wharton, the Law School, Arts and Sciences, Design, Engineering, the Graduate School of Education, and the Perelman School of Medicine. Past seminar series have included the Information Communication Technologies for Development Series, the New Technologies, Transparency and Human Rights program, and the Measuring Development seminar series.
